Why Google is the Number One Company in the World

August 10th, 2010 Filed under: Small Home Based Business — Small Home Business Author

When you look at a company, do you analyze it’s success or failures? Do you think about how that company has got to where it has got? Do you think about what they have done, how they potentially changed the world or impacted others?

Thats what I think when I think of Google. Google continually innovates quality, opensource free utilities and software that makes our lives easier. Not only that but we hardly praise Google for the way they have changed our lives. Perhaps one of the reasons is that they do not take money directly from our hands but from advertisers and other promotional ways without the main consumers ever noticing. They earn from the misclicks and the more importantly the clicks that drive traffic to millions of websites around the world.

How did they begin and to what heights have they taken it to? For the last 10 years or so, Google has become the dominator in the U.S and most foreign countries for the powerful logarithm built search engine they have developed. Now a days, they’ve coined the word, “Just Google It” when someone is unsure of what something is. Their search engine is so precise, it provides the worlds knowledge on the tips of your keyboard. Once they had a major domination over the search engine, they were able to expand hundreds of other innovations and free products that they made. Their theory is that the more free, useful and opensource products they release, the more people will decide to use their services. So far, this theory has yet to be proven wrong.

Their latest inventions include an opensource mobile platform that provides a competitive edge for cellphone developers to build their devices with. They find this to be cheaper and in the long run, a way to defeat the long standing champ, Apple, who currently holds almost a monopoly on the smartphone market with their iPhone. Statistics show Google winning the cellphone market in the long run, but these days, everyone knows its’ hard to predict the future when in terms with technology. Innovations are unpredictable, determining who will succeed could make one successful in itself.

Besides the Google Search engine and their opensource mobile platform, Google owns some of the most successful enterprises on the web. They hold the #4 website, YouTube a platform that allows users to publish and blog about theirs lives using video. Another winner is their site Blogger, which holds the #8 best website according to Alexa. Holding 3 of the top 10 sites in the world is quite a feat in itself yet alone trying to compete with the biggest leaders in the industry including Microsoft, Apple, RIM, and other various companies mainly in the Tech sector.
