Surround Yourself With Great People

“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.”
–Oprah Winfrey
The greatest business leaders in the world have one thing in common – they build a network of skilled individuals and rely on them to carry out many of the tasks necessary for success. On the flipside, working alone is unnecessarily difficult and makes it nearly impossible to reach the highest levels of success. It’s crucial for you to surround yourself with people who share your goals and can contribute their own unique skills.
As you develop a network of support, you’re better able to focus on the tasks that demand your attention and trust that the other important things will get done. Ronald Reagan famously said, “Surround yourself with the best people you can find, delegate authority, and don’t interfere as long as the policy you’ve decided upon is being carried out.” This recommended approach requires you to trust in the creativity of your network, believing that they’ll come up with solutions and strategies superior to your own.
Just as you must believe in your supporters, it is equally essential that they believe in you. A support system like this provides the inspiration to carry on even when times get tough. They should sincerely want you to succeed. Seek out people who listen to you and also share their own insights. People who aren’t afraid to disagree with you when you’re wrong. If you surround yourself with great people such as this, your path to success will be brighter and more rewarding.
