Scarcity Versus Abundance

Any new entrepreneur, first have to establish if a market exist for the goods and services he intends to supply. Extensive investment is normally made, into market research, before the business person will take the plunge. Market Research is crucial, though overrated. These new businesses pay steep fees, for information that they could have researched on the web, or in libraries.

If a negative mindset about markets or the economy exist, the business will not succeed. It is imperative that a entrepreneur view the world as one of ABUNDANCE, and not scarcity.
The media feeds us constant images of scarcity, shortages, hunger and disease. As a consequence, many a business person come to see the world as such. Lack and scarcity.

We hear constant reports of over population and hunger. Is the world really over populated? I am from Africa, a continent, considered to be “over populated”. But any tourist, who visited our beautiful continent, will attest, that this is a huge continent of vast open spaces.Even India, China and Japan have open spaces.Australia, and the Americas have vasts tracts of unused land.Calculations have revealed that the entire worlds population can be squeezed into a state of Texas, and every person will have about 600 sq ft to live in.And the rest of the world would be empty.Do the math. Six billion people divided by the square miles of Texas.

People go hungry, but countries like the US and Europe are over fed. I have read many reports on food scarcity and drought in my country, South Africa, over the years, but noticed stores stocked, to capacity with vegetables and other foodstuffs during the drought periods. The United States and other Countries produce surpluses in milk and other food. But babies die of starvation in other Third World Countries.

Money is also in abundance. Look at the millions of currencies traded on various stock exchanges around the Globe. In fact, trillions of units of exchange, are circulating the globe on a daily basis.

Corporations who understand the game, know how to play the markets, and guarantee the flow of money and resources in their direction. Consequently, only 5% to 6%, of the world population, control nearly 99% of the money.

Global poverty, is growing. In as much as we tempted to shift blame to these greedy capitalist, we should take the blame for sitting on our behinds without lifting a finger to change this dire situation.Multinational companies are as much dependent ,as us, the small business entrepreneurs , on the same customer base, or markets, if you will.
They penetrate these markets with skill and sophistry, and guarantee huge returns for their investors.

Year on year, multinational corporations grow their turnovers with between 80 to 100%, in economies that supposedly grow at 2 to 5%.How do corporations grow so fat? Ask consumers and the workers.

We rather support the “Big Brands”, in the malls, than the small person on the corner. Talented people waste most of their lives in these huge companies. Workers in the marketing departments of big companies break their backs to convince consumers to buy the companies products, for a meager commission or salary, but will never risk marketing their own ideas, in their own businesses, to the public.

The trillions or zillions of cash in circulation, can turn every person on this planet into a millionaire! I am no socialist ,and NOT suggesting that money should be given to people,. The strategy, is simply to find a way, to redirect the cash! If more people could get into business, and offer products and services, poverty levels would come down.
Millions are spent on arms, and warfare, but there is never enough to feed and clothe people.

It is clear again, that WE are ultimately responsible. The multinationals, are not hoarding cash, for the fun of it. To them it is a serious tactic, to keep people in the dark and confused. The endless problems created by the corporate culture, such as boardroom squabbles, labour end environmental issues, play a vital role, in dividing the world population in general, and communities in particular.

Every individual should consider a small business and take advantage of the abundance that surrounds us. The Online business model is a good place to start!
