Make Money in College – An Entrepreneurial Spirit Might Help
May 10th, 2009 Filed under: Uncategorized — Small Home Business AuthorWith the rising cost of higher education it has become more important for students to be able to make money in college to pay for their tuition. Trying to find all possible sources of scholarship is the first step, but unless they are very lucky they wont have received anything like what is required in the form of grants.
The traditional method for students to raise some cash is the same as everyone else – get a job. Unfortunately most jobs that are available are low income and many then have to take more than one job just to make ends meet. When travel is taken into consideration and the actual hours working it doesn’t leave too much time for studying. It is not surprising many students drop out from college and many of those that do remain don’t perform as well as they hoped.
When there are economical problems then there are obviously less jobs available, even though low pay, as there used to be. Too many businesses cannot afford to take on even part time workers. There are always alternatives an one is to create your own employment. There are thousands of possibilities once you start to think a little and most people have skills that they can use to provide an income.
One example would be to find out how much it costs to hire equipment for a day, for instance a pressure washer, and then advertise locally your service to clean people’s driveways. Not perfect but one way to make money in college that would bring in some cash.
That is probably not the most profitable job, especially in winter. Personally I would suggest you concentrate on business that can be done completely on the internet. That eliminates costs and time wasted in travel and also gives you the possibility of earning a great deal more since your customers are world wide, not just in your neighborhood.
Students in college are there because they usually have enough brains to be there and that means that they are every chance of learning whatever it takes to be successful online. I am not talking of some easy wealth making nonsense but good old fashioned hard work – the type that generates an honest income.
If you enjoy serving hamburgers then go for it but if you think you are capable of much more then perhaps you can make money in college after all. Perhaps you might even make a change of career.
