Journal Yourself to Success For Entrepreneurs
September 25th, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized — Small Home Business AuthorDo you remember the scene at the beginning of Pretty Woman where the man shouts, “Welcome to Hollywood! Everybody comes to Hollywood has got a dream. What’s your dream? Hey, mister! Hey, what’s your dream?”
We have the power to live our dreams, but sometimes we go wandering off to Hollywood to find them – when the way to create them comes from within. For some reason it seems easier to look to others for answers. You see them creating the life you want, so you think all you need to do is ask them how. While these people can offer inspiration and motivation, ultimately you have to find your own way to fulfillment, happiness and abundance. The good news: the answers lie inside your own mind. You just have to learn how to tap into them. Journaling is the simplest and best way to understand your dreams. You may think about and say what you want every day, but until you step back and observe yourself, you can’t see it. It’s a blind spot.
So, how do you use a diary or journal to unlock your authentic self and your dreams? How do you unleash your spirit so you can jump out of bed and joyfully experience life every single day? Maybe you remember moments where you felt truly inspired or divinely fulfilled in every way. If you can capture those moments, they become tools to help you understand your dreams and desires. In this way, your journal can be the magic wand that removes all limits and unlocks your heart.
What Do You Desire?
Our desires keep us on our divine path. The problem is most of us run from the big dream. We have doubt that we can’t create it so we don’t even entertain it. We think, “I know I can’t create this, and I don’t want to be a failure, so I won’t bother. Think about this… “If your fairy godmother showed up in front of you and asked what you wanted, what would you ask for?”
Even if we do entertain the dream, sometimes we don’t see the details well enough to form a clear picture. We have an idea of what we want, but it is difficult to claim it as ours. Journaling gives you space to build a clear, detailed description of what you want. You can then hold that vision in your mind.
Holding a dream in our minds attracts thoughts that guide us through every moment of every day, keeping us focused on our divine path and purpose. Keeping a journal and writing affirmations keeps you focused on the dream. So, when big decisions need to be made all you have to ask yourself is, “Does this align with the bigger picture?”
What’s Your Excuse? What’s Your Story?
Regret, resentment, and unforgiving thoughts are poisons. Holding on to them is toxic. Why not give yourself the gift of letting go of these past emotions?
Now is the time to say good-bye. Let go. Accept yourself – and everyone else. We are what we are.
Try This?
Open your journal and start with this question:
“What do I desire? How could I clearly state it to myself (and my fairy godmother)”
Write it down!
Read what you write. Imagine what you would say and work to create a one sentence affirmation. Write this affirmation 16 times a day for 2 weeks.
Wait in expectation and see what comes to you. Each day, you will see things related to your affirmation. It may take the form of a gift, or a personal connection. Notice all the amazing things that come up and write about them too.
Focus only on the positive, but don’t change anything after it is written down. If something negative come ups and you feel a need to write, let it out. Whatever has come up is from deep inside. Allow your thoughts to pour out. No one ever has to read this.
Check your critic! Whatever the critic inside your head is saying to you, release it. If you let it go, it will have no energy. As you continue to write about your dreams and desires, your positively-focused mind will work on solutions, and the past feelings of resentment or hurt will fade away. As you journal your dreams, you tell the universe you are ready to receive these gifts.
Feel as if you have already received what you just wrote. Explore and write about those feelings. Did your feelings change? Did you begin to feel more empowered? Excited? Whatever you feel doesn’t matter; what matters is you feel good! Journaling is a way to release negative emotions and create the life you want to lead. Let go and allow journaling to transform you so you can manifest your dreams.
