The sbdc.mt.gov site has information containing local offices, business online training, start-up tools, business facts, licenses, country by county stats and regional maps and resources. If you click on county by country stats you will find a 2004 edition jobs clients, $ size and projects that were in progress by county. This information may be useful in determining where there may be the most need or where there was growth. You can find out more information by contacting them directly. There is one-to-one counselling and there is a central centre in the state capital as well as 10 other centres. There is also a training library with a virtual campus online.
2. Business.gov state site
The Montana Small Business quide on this site is a great resource for starting a small business, registering and licensing, loans and grant searches, paying taxes, employment laws and industry information.

This is a great site if you are looking for a listing of small business incubators. There is also a link for investors, as the Chicago private equity firm comprises of successful entrepreneurs and investors with strong entrepreneurial and investing track records. There is also a list of venture capital firms in Montana, networking organizations in the state and information on programs sponsored by the state. If you are looking for ways to find sources of equity or financing for your business this may be the site for you.
