Business For The New Economy – The Journey Of Middle Class Cheese
October 4th, 2007 Filed under: Uncategorized — Small Home Business AuthorPeople who can benefit most from the entrepreneurial lifestyle are those who have a taste for freedom or in other words, those who would enjoy more money and time freedom. When this reads in the mind, you might think everyone would enjoy more time and money.
In the past I have made this same false assumption. The fact of the matter is that not everyone desires to have more money and free time to do whatever they like. The fact that people cling to comfort and the thing that is known keeps many from making decisions that would produce different results in their lives.
It seems the population that is ready for a successful lifestyle is growing hear in America. I have read in recent finance news that fewer Americans desire to be middle class. Today more and more Americans aspire to experience affluence.
The growing trend of the masses toward investing in real estate, mutual funds, and small business has exploded in the last ten to fifteen years. Some say this may be the reason for the flat real estate market, and reduced returns on paper investments.
The information age is upon us, as the industrial age has left some with scars. The entrepreneurs who are emerging today more commonly think from the end. They are more likely to build their business or select investments with the end in mind.
Health and wellness, personal development, and spiritual enlightenment are topics and industries of choice today. The idea of finding a safe secure job and enjoying a 20 year pension plan is much less practical today. People still cling to the idea and it still enjoys popularity but the practicality of it has all but disappeared.
The world is changing and the leading entrepreneurs are changing with it. I often wonder what the world will be like in twenty years. I have developed the habit of thinking about this and use what I discover to position myself so that I might be in a favorable position.
The masses appear to becoming much more segmented and the impact of this on economy and society will be substantial. It will become main stream to find yourself in a holistic life. A life where your work, your leisure and your circle of influence is more integral to who you are.
It seems to be an accepted idea today that the middle class will disappear. What will replace the middle class? Computers, robots, better systems, overseas employees, migrant workers, synthetic foods, and technology in general.
Where will the middle class go is the next logical question. I think the masses have slipped into a static way of thinking, many people don’t seem to realize that middle class is a term that did not exist thirty years ago. Is this idea a fad. How long has the idea of a pension been around. I would welcome someone reading this article to enlighted me on that one.
The speed at which the world is evolving today need not be alarming. The times have always been changing and it always comes about in a seamless way. I am reminded of a book I recently read that told the story of mice and cheese and the necessity to continue to look for new cheese. A person who wishes to be moving with the times today is finding that the masses are not as massive as they once were and the path of the majority is not the well trodden path it once was.
Now as well as then the important things in life are still to make the journey with those you love and enjoy the things that you were made to enjoy. The world seems to becoming a place where living life by personal design is the norm. Maybe it always has been.
