Build a Business by Sharing Information

December 29th, 2008 |

It seems that everywhere you go these days there is talk about the recession. As a result, people are concerned about job security, their retirement investments, and simply making ends meet. Are any of these things on your mind?If the answer is yes, then the next question must be what is your plan for securing your financial future?Could it be starting to develop a second income by starting your own business?

Peace of mind.Is that not what we really want? For me, peace of mind comes from knowing that I am in control. That is why I chose the path of building my own business.Never again will I run the risk of losing my job.Never again will I worry about the stock market tanking and causing me to lose my retirement savings. Why, because I ambuilding a business that is creating an asset which will sustain long-term financial freedom. That business is based on direct marketing.

One of the reasons I chose to build a direct marketing business was because of a book by Paul Zane Pilzer called The Next Millionaires.Paul is a world-renowned economist and author of eight best-selling books. He is also a multi-millionaire.In his book, he predicts that between 2006 and 2016 there will be one million new millionaires in this country. He goes on to predict that many of those millionaires will come from an area he calls intellectual distribution. The term distribution typically refers to distributing a product or service.Intellectual distribution refers to distributing and sharing information about a product or service.

In the last decade many people became wealthy from the distribution of goods rather than manufacturing.People like Sam Walton, founder of WalMart, did a very good job of marketing and distributing products to the end user.

Today one of the most difficult tasks of manufacturers is not necessarily getting their new products distributed, but getting the word out that a new product is available and how it can benefit the consumer. The old methods of marketing are simply not as effective as they used to be because reading advertisements, watching TV and listening to the radio are very passive activities.Interacting with another person engages that person and therefore they are more apt to learn. Now, itseems, the best way for someone to learn something new is by talking to someone they know and trust. That is why intellectual distribution is becoming the marketing tool of choice by millions of manufacturers.

You know how it is, everything changes so fast.It seems like as soon as you actually learn about a new product or idea there is something else to replace it.That is why I love this business! We are always learning about new products and services, and then we get to teach others who teach others and so on. Can you see yourself building a business on intellectual distribution and, perhaps, becoming one of those new millionaires?
