Home Internet Business Oportunities - What’s Your Passion?
September 17th, 2007
Most people really don’t enjoy their 9-5 job and would do something else if they could. But they might have to leave their comfort zone and venture out of their area of expertise/knowledge. Successful minded people are usually pretty creative and motivated to learn and could easily be successful in their internet based business with the proper guidance/training/coaching, etc… Everyone needs to find something they are passionate about.
Consider this recent (translated) conversation between 2 of my best friends. Can you relate?
My friend and I had an interesting discussion about starting a home-based business and getting out of the rat race before we got to old to enjoy the universe around us. We are both in our 40’s with elderly parents, facing our own mortality and wondering what its all been about. We did what we were supposed to went to school, college, got the 9-5 and joined the grind. For the last 25 years, we’ve worked our 40 hours, worked a load of overtime, showed up when told, went to lunch between 12 and 2, wore ties and dresses though we hate them and built the dream of our employers. We’ve been comfortable. We have not been happy.
He recently branched out into the world of real estate having stumbled into an opportunity after we watched bestselling DVD, The Secret where it alluded to the fact that there was so much more out there for us if we’d let go of our fears, step out of our comfort zones and take a chance. His parents aren’t getting any younger and as examples they have always been stalwart, hard-working folk who went into their senior years dissatisfied with dreams unrealized and retiring from a company job who gave them a party, gold watch, pat on the back and a nice severance package. We are watching them wonder what it was all about.
We are at the low end of the baby boomer scale, 40-something and dissatisfied. And while we are more motivated than our parents to follow our dreams, we are looking for businesses that offer structure, guidance and coaching. Now, you’re probably wondering why we would need all of this. We have been adults for many years, semi-successful. So why do we chafe at the yolk that is being employed by someone else and at the same time, balk at the idea of going out on our own. After all, the people we are working for took a chance, sank all their funds and jumped into the business fray. We are no less intelligent. The fear, rational or not, is now shared by our children and watching them, we are saddened. We wish for them what we haven’t done for ourselves find something we are passionate about and pursue it with verve and joy.
Like I said, we are 40-something and have begun to pursue our own dreams. My friend has gone towards real estate, and while I’m sitting in the hospital with my mom who has lung and brain cancer and still talks of being a classical, concert pianist when she has time, and I’m pursuing writing. It is and has always been the thing I’ve loved, and I can honestly say that I am passionate about sharing a bit with the universe. My friend, it seems, has always loved land and he stated by buying a scrap of desert in Nevada a portion of a ghost town which was the start of his love of buying, repairing and selling real estate. He calls it flipping and he’s betting the farm on its success by hooking up with experts who are already successful to go through a course that will make him an expert. I have never seen him so passionate, so fired up.
I would like to be able to write for 5-6 hours a day, science fiction or fiction. It is the one thing I have always loved to do, get excited about and will pursue with an excited and loving feeling that I can honestly say I don’t have for much else. For the first time in my life, I have the strength and mental toughness to pursue with a will.
So, what’s the bottom line in all of this? Put simply, we are a race that has achieved great things through people who got excited, passionate, and most of all, took action. It is a step-by-step process. It takes guts, hard work and the knowledge that you will have failures as you move forward to success. It takes research to find the home-based opportunity that fits your lifestyle and appeals to you. Look at opportunities like marriages you have to stay with them and stay passionate during the dark times so that when the light shines, you are still there. Everything you start takes time, commitment and the love of the product or opportunity to make it work. It also takes a strong belief in both yourself and what you are marketing. With these essential ingredients, you will make it and be successful. It’s a simple concept that many can miss in their quest to make money. Being successful and getting rich is so much more than just making money. Whats your passion?
